My name is Dr. Tara Mitchell, and I am a legal psychologist. I teach at a regional public university in Pennsylvania, and much of my time is spent working to address the problem of interpersonal violence. I teach, research, and do service within my personal and professional communities aimed at reducing the problems of sexual assault and abuse, domestic violence, stalking, and hate crimes.
Prior to starting my Ph.D., I worked in human resources. Because of the time I spent in human resources, I have volunteered for and led nonprofit boards, particularly those related to reducing interpersonal violence and discrimination. I really enjoy being able to combine my experiences in human resources and higher education to work within my communities and support others’ in their journey to empowerment and lives free of violence.
I love learning, and I love sharing knowledge I have gained. I hope you’ll join me as I share what I have learned and learn from you share!
